The Myth and Theatre Festival is a mixed event (practical and theoretical) both festive, as it should be for a festival, but also very serious in the ambition of its practices and theories presented (notably Anarchy and Archetypes).
Two facets:
1 – PRACTICAL: Voice and Voice Performance (after Roy Hart), WORKSHOPS, Choreographic Theatre LABORATORIES: (voice/movement/text synthesis), and PERFORMANCES.
2 – THEORETICAL: seminars, debates and lectures in connection with the work, themes and performances.
Enrique Pardo will follow up his “defense and illustration” of Roy Hart and of James Hillman , inspirational figures of Pantheatre, and give the floor once again to Xavier Papaïs , a leading contemporary thinker on MAGIC (and Anarchy), and to Sonu Shamdasani , historian of psychology, specialist of the work of Carl Jung, and of James Hillman’s archetypal psychology.
With age, our festival (and hopefully most of us) are getting culturally richer, while tapping deeper and deeper roots. “Richer and deeper”, especially due to the consideration we have been giving Magic for the past twelve years. Now, another topic has emerged out of the unexpected confrontation between ARCHETYPES and ANARCHY. This may sound “arcane”, which it is, given that all these terms refer to arkhê (the foundations of authority). Our premise is that both archetypes and anarchy are essential to artistic endeavor: archetypes provide the cultural references, while anarchy calls for radical emancipation. Hence our proposal for the 2026 theme: ANARCHETYPES.
