Group that meets over several sessions.
The Advanced Pedagogic Group offers a group-based training over 3 years and consists of 6 sessions of 11 days (1 rest day) at the Roy Hart Voice Centre, Malérargues.
This program provides a structure where students can go deeper into their own work and one that focuses on some of the main elements of pedagogy as practiced by diverse Roy Hart Voice Centre teachers. It is a program of intense study for students who already have substantial experience of Roy Hart Centre work: workshops and individual lessons. A certificate of attendance can be provided upon completion of the program.
During the workshop: we delve into the history/roots of the work begun by Alfred Wolfsohn and continued by Roy Hart.Throughout the 6 sessions, we follow the main structure of the Roy Hart Voice Centre workshops: physical and vocal warm-ups, singing lessons in small groups, and ateliers based on texts, songs, improvisation, etc.
We ask the participants to develop a personal project during the 6 sessions which they will present to the group at the end of the 6th one. We encourage them to write, draw, move and sing their own process. We also give participants the opportunity to put into practice the pedagogy in the tradition of the Roy Hart Voice Centre, through giving supervised lessons. Teachers and students can offer feedback to help the process.
The APG is currently led by Carol Mendelsohn, Edda Heeg and Saule Ryan as the main teachers, with Laurent Stephan set to join the teaching team.To apply, candidates should send a detailed list of workshops and lesson hours including the teachers and dates, plus a letter of motivation to Carol Mendelsohn.
