Workshop description:

Workshop Description:
A 4-day journey to explore the expressive and creative potential of the human voice.

Through work on the body and movement, guided by the breath, we will explore how to develop a more embodied, expansive, and liberated voice.
This workshop will combine the fundamentals of the Roy Hart Voice Center’s approach, group work (improvisations, polyphonies), and more exploratory sequences where each participant’s voice will be listened to and worked on individually.

This workshop is open to beginners to discover their vocal potential and to performers who want to explore and use their “extended” voice for their artistic expression.

In a spirit of kindness, listening, and respect, this work will be supported by two teachers from the Roy Hart Voice Center.

“I DIDN’T KNOW I COULD HAVE THIS VOICE” These words from a student touched me deeply. This is at the heart of my teaching. How to create space to let out new voices emerge – both known and unknown- and free one’s expressiveness. Nurtured by my artistic and pedagogical practice, my work builds bridges between voice, movement, creativity, and yoga. I like to play with imagination as a way to reach a form of freedom and liberation. To sing is to find ourselves in a vibrant body, present and anchored. It’s not about trying to sing but about letting yourself sing.

My very first experience of the Roy Hart voice work was in 1988 when I had my first individual lesson with Marita Günther. The joy of life and love entered into my voice. Now it has become my life and my passion to accompany people into the singing process. Singing means much more to me than the actual producing of a sound. It is a deep process of self-reflection, self-confidence and self-knowledge. For me my work is energetic work on all levels, combined with deep and passionate emotions to reveal the inner flow of life and love.
