At this workshop, you are invited to embody a story with your voice, your breath, your emotions, and your imagination. Bring a traditional tale or another story that speaks to you (aprox 5 minutes). Throughout the week, you will vocally explore the story, its atmospheres, its characters, and give space for the story to move through you, shape you, and reveal itself in new ways.
Daily warm-ups will root the voice in physical presence, while improvisation, singing and deep listening will allow us to explore the emotional and symbolic terrain of the text. The work will alternate between individual and collective research.
This workshop is for anyone who is curious about the intelligence of the human voice and the wisdom of traditional stories. It is led by Maryline Guitton and Mariane Siem, both Roy Hart Voice Centre teachers and voice instructors at professional theatre schools. They both have rich experience working with creative processes.
