In this workshop, we will explore the importance and power of our embodied presence. We will deepen our capacity to inhabit our own embodied vitality, while also learning how this embodied presence can support the emergence of creativity and aliveness in our students. We will address what lies beneath the surface of conscious awareness—the implicit layers of experience—and how these subtle dynamics shape both our inner world and the relational field we co-create with others. Together, we will look at how these undercurrents often manifest within the professional relationship between teacher and student.
By cultivating a more embodied understanding of these processes, we can learn how to work with them skillfully—strengthening the connection with our students and supporting their ability to access authentic, creative expression. As part of this exploration, we will have practices of vocal expression. We will practice deep listening to our inner world experience and allow voice and expression to emerge from this embodied listening, while being deeply listened and witnessed by a present other. In addition, we will explore how group expressions can arise organically, paying attention to how the interpersonal field supports and shapes collective expression and improvisation.
